Mitigating and reducing substance misuse addiction

Across Ummah gives solid supports in mitigating substance abuse and addiction. Our teams are non judgemental and create holistic therapeutic interventions and counselling for individuals including youngsters in the community. We walk through the recovery journey and give practical support.

Meet Maria...

A survivor of domestic violence in a close-knit community where seeking mental health support was stigmatised. Across Ummah's one-on-one online multilingual platform became Maria's lifeline, offering a safe space to connect and express herself in her native language, making the counselling sessions more effective with qualified counsellors who understood the cultural nuances of her experience. Through one-on-one counselling sessions, Maria found solace in sharing her concerns privately, breaking free from the isolation imposed by her own societal and cultural norms. This fostered a sense of community among individuals to socialise, reducing stigma, which not only empowered Maria to seek help but also inspired her to become an advocate within her community.

The project's continuous monitoring and evaluation allowed Maria to not only improve her mental health, but we also trained Maria to become a mental first aider. She is now helping others to access the vital mental health support they deserve. Maria's story illustrates how Across Ummah is leading in bridging gaps in accessing the best support and transformative impacts.
